Fell Foot Park (LA12 8NN) is a country park, formerly the grounds of a Victorian house, situated beside Lake Windermere, and in the ownership of the National Trust. It is just north of Newby Bridge on the A592 road in the civil parish of Staveley-in-Cartmel in South Lakeland district
Whitbarrow can be seen from the front bedroom and garden of Beech Hill House Apartment. A hill designated a biological Site of Special Scientific Interest and national nature reserve, it forms part of the Morecambe Bay Pavements Special Area of Conservation due to its supporting some of the best European examples of natural limestone habitats
Foulshaw Moss (LA11 6SN) is a raised bog near Witherslack, just down the A590 from Beech Hill House. In 1998 it was bought by Cumbria Wildlife Trust, which has worked to reverse damage caused to the bog by drainage and afforestation and where you can visit the ospreys who return to the site each year.
